Beckett and I went to Surf Beach today. We were the only ones there because it was a little windy. Lucky Brandi had the foresight to put him in some nylon-ish sweats because when we went down to the water and a 2" high wave washed over his toes it shocked him so bad that he fell on his butt. It was a little cold. The rest of the time was spent climbing around the dunes and playing in the sand.
On Christmas morning I woke up in the same house that I grew up in. As I opened my eyes I saw two people, my wife and my son. Beckett was facing me, lying between Brandi and I. Brandi was also facing me. Both were alseep. It was the most beautiful and absolutely the best Christmas of my life.
It has only gotten better with each and every day.

I am about to turn a year old, so Mommy and Daddy threw me a party at Miguelito Park in Lompoc.

Beckett's friend RJ got one of these walking things. It wasn't going to happen that RJ walks before Beckett because he is two days younger than Beckett! So...We had to get one.
Beckett loves it (even though this picture says otherwise) and goes racing around the living and dining room.
I've been holding out my hands to him when he hits a dead end. This necessitates him reaching out to take a couple of baby steps to get to me without holding anything.
